Unconscious Bias: A Proactive Business Case
Presented by Dr. Kim Gordon, UAFS Center for Economic Development, Fort Smith, AR
Participants will journey alongside Dr. Gordon as she discusses the business case for an inclusive culture. Beginning the session with ancestral land acknowledgement, Dr G highlights the importance of growing a mindset of obligation rather than one of entitlement. Dr G reviews recent EEOC headlines, census data, and the issues trending in the workplace. She then guides participants through a conversation about the value of DEI, growing understanding of DEI’s impact, and some steps to help participants illuminate then diminish a bias or two.
