The Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) provides information and assistance on private sector, employer-sponsored retirement benefit and health benefit plans. EBSA's scope of interest ranges from conflicts of interest to the ACA, from correction programs to retirement plans.
This session is suited to employers, pension plan administrators, trustees, attorneys and HR professionals. It will educate attendees about the rules related to investigations (both civil and criminal) by the EBSA and will include rules and regulations about pensions and health plans as well as compliance assistance.
Luis Velez, Senior Investigator with EBSA, has been with the Dallas-EBSA office since 2002. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Dayton and his Juris Doctorate from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. Velez was admitted to the Puerto Rico Bar in October 2011. He is also a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
