Inclusion 2020: Getting Vets to Work
by Judith Tavano
Diversity itself comes in all shapes and forms. Sometimes overlooked for its potential, the veteran population enriches workplaces by its gender diversity, ethnic diversity, and skill diversity -- to say the least. Understanding the lingo associated with employment of veterans is a challenge for many. Similarly, growing a leadership team that understands the demands on employees who who practice dual employment can be a struggle. The SHRM Foundation is a leader in workplace initiatives to employ both veteran and current military members. To aid the HR team, SHRM provides numerous aids and has launched a certificate to demonstrate proficiency in veteran employment to those who are vested in veteran employment success. The Veterans at Work Certificate, developed for HR professionals, hiring managers, and front- line supervisors, is a multi-faceted program from the SHRM Foundation and brought to you with generous support from Comcast NBCUniversal.
Inclusions 2020 has approved by SHRM for 1 PDC and by HRCI for 1 general credit.
